Welcome to our new weekly magazine - the brief
Launch of the brief
We were thrilled to hear from many of you who told us, "Hey, we miss you! We loved the thought leadership, research, and great content. Always useful and unique".
So, we decided to launch a new weekly magazine. In today's twittering world, short is beautiful. Thus was born the brief: concise articles on best practices, technology, and new takes on business topics across a variety of industries and issues, around the globe. We will keep you connected to the vital blogs, tweets, and posts that matter the most. We encourage you to join the dialog and interact.
We will also resume publishing our journal Parallax View, with in-depth articles and content.
Recently we conducted a research project on 2010 Supply Chain Priorities: New Models for Improving Supply Chain Performance (see our report and webinar). The concerns and priorities raised by the business community in that research is reflected in our editorial priorities for upcoming issues of the brief.
In addition, in our interviews with business and technology leaders, it became clear that the recent downturn has not had a negative impact on everyone's plans and growth. We will share those secrets of success as well.
No doubt we are in for more turbulence, not just due to lingering effects of the Subprime meltdown, but because we are going through a major, long-term restructuring of the global economy (see figure 1). Concerns about EU country defaults mount and we are seeking new answers to both old and new problems.
To use an old phrase, "Buckle your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride." (the source of which old time moviegoers know. check it out on YouTube).
